This is the second coil I have built, My previous coil was a 4" that was capable of throwing 1 meter sparks. It ran from 2 x 12kV 30mA neon sign transformers running in parallel, and had a MMC capacitor bank with a total capacitance of 10nF (Which eventually died due to over voltage caused by resonant charging.)  This new coil has only run a couple of times, the results so far have been great. The current set-up throws white hot 3.5-4m Power Arcs to grounded objects.
